As I write this blog I am in the middle of contemplating some very big changes in my life. And, whether I am ready for them.
How do we know when it's the right time for shaking things up? Or the right decision for that matter?
I met with a friend of mine recently, same age as me, who was discussing early retirement next year. She was looking forward to a calm life, pottering about. Honestly, it sounded idyllic.
I sat there awkwardly though, not knowing quite what to say, as I am feeling completely the opposite. My ambitions seem to be limitless right now and I am feeling ready for some of my boldest moves yet.
To hear my contemporaries are ready to slow down does make me pause for a moment and wonder why on earth I want more pressure, more stress and certainly a lot more work.
The truth is however, that I devoted over 30 years working for other people in mainstream and luxury retail. I chose my career over having a family. I made social sacrifices due to the long hours and weekends. Only to realise a few years ago that I wasn't actually happy.
I realise happiness is a big request and for most of us just a relatively stress-free life is all we hope for. But I just refuse to accept that I can't create the storyline that I wish for myself.
If my tastes in clothes, makeup and food have evolved. If I have repainted the interior of my house several times and have new friendships and new interests. Why shouldn't this thirst for personal growth and change be reflected in the bigger choices that I make?
2 and half years ago I left paid employment and created citrine loves. It happily consumes most of my thoughts, and my passion. However, I am now contemplating a possible house move/renovation, learning new skills and branching out into other business ventures.
Why, I ask myself?
The answer I come back to time and time again, is that I have this burning energy and curiosity to experience more, to achieve more, to see what I am capable of. Does that resonate with anyone?
And do you know what, the more you do, the more confidence you have to do more and then in turn, the more opportunities arise. Honestly, it's amazing.
My favourite saying is 'Fortune favours the Brave'. There has never been a time I believe in this more.
So, if when you read this you are considering that new job or house move. Or there is something you are yearning to learn more about. Or you just need to get out of a negative relationship. Then you too also need to ask yourself this question.
'Is it time to take that leap of faith?'

Well here we are, it’s finally March and Spring is on it’s way. Woohoo!
I couldn’t feel happier about this. The evenings are already getting lighter and the blossom is making its debut appearance on the trees. In this unruly world we live in I think it’s important to stop and appreciate that nature prevails no matter what. I find much comfort in this.

Question: Do you plan what you are going to wear each day/week, or do you fly by the seat of your pants?

To change your jewellery or not to change your jewellery?
Well that IS the question.
Jewellery wearers definitely seem to fall into two categories.
