Question: Do you plan what you are going to wear each day/week, or do you fly by the seat of your pants?
I fall into both camps actually. I seem to plan for the most mundane days and yet avoid any thought processs when attending a really important event. The result; major stress, piles of clothes all over the floor and then regret later about a forgotten piece of jewellery that I should have worn, or worse, I remember the actual outfit I wanted to wear!
Is this you as well, or just me?
When I actually have my sh*t together I follow these easy steps....
I first consider the priority piece of clothing:
Am I walking to the station and pounding the pavements?
= comfortable footwear.
Am I outside a lot and it's cold?
= a show-stopping coat.
Am I somewhere warm and I am going to have to peal off layers whilst still hiding lumps and bumps and looking professional and stylish once I've de-robed ?
= a great shirt.
I then consider the 'Rule of 3'. Adding a 3rd piece to your outfit is a tried and tested mantra from all the top stylists. It can be another item of clothing, a scarf, a belt or the most effective way (I would say this!) is a piece of statement jewellery.
Wearing a t-shirt and jeans + statement necklace
Wearing a dress and jacket + fabulous earrings
Wearing a shirt and trousers + impactful cuff bracelet
The 3rd piece is a simple yet effective way to elevate an outfit and create a more intentional and sophisticated look. This welcome addition will give your outfit more visual interest, achieve a more polished appearance and allow for self-expression and personal style.
Whilst your wardrobe is transitioning into spring/summer take this into consideration. You may not need to buy new clothes. A fun, frivolous piece of costume jewellery might be all you need to bring that 'je ne sais quoi' to your seasonal dressing. Taking the ordinary to the extrodianary. Ooh la la!!
Go on... Adorn Yourself!

To change your jewellery or not to change your jewellery?
Well that IS the question.
Jewellery wearers definitely seem to fall into two categories.
